Hello everyone, first let me start off my saying I'm Cale, I'm eighteen years old, and I love scale modeling just about anything that I really enjoy from worlds of non-fiction and fantasy alike. That being said you shan't see any wizards or goblins on my creations, only the occasional alien. So I've been modeling all my life, HO scale trains when I was younger followed by 1/72nd scale war dioramas, and most recently a 1/200th scale airport, however growing older and understanding the science behind what propels these machines I've been modeling has turned me into somewhat of a technology and science fiction sponge..

This is my newest project, I do apologize if it's in an inappropriate place, but being Halo-themed tends to draw an immature crowd so I've been seeking out a more grown-up place to display my work for a little constructive criticism.

For those of you whom may not know: Halo is a popular sci-fi first person shooter genre game played by millions. This model is a "6in scale" representation of the Orbital Drop Shock Troopers' (referred to as ODSTs herein) SOEIV or Drop pod and an ODST clad in the carbon black armor the "Helljumpers" are known for. More information about the fiction behind this work can be had from this link: http://halo.wikia.com/wiki/Orbital_Drop_Shock_Trooper

sorry about writing a book here everyone, I know that's a typical forum no-no, but it is my first post and I had lots to say.

Welcome to the site. Sort of the wrong section, your diorama would probably fit in better over on Model Geek, but this is technically armor so you're not too far off.

I wasn't aware that anyone made Halo kits, or are these just the six-inch toys/figures from McFarlane Toys (I think)? Very nice work either way. And I'd definitely agree about anything Halo bringing in an immature crowd, especially since Reach.

Hmm I don't think I came across that one while searching.. If you google anything remotely close to the words "halo diorama" you get spammed with stuff from the "Believe" ad campaign still lingering around from Halo 3 and with good reason, that was an impressive diorama. And yes, this is one of the 6 inch scale figures from McFarlane, the figure itself is what inspired the rest of it, because I thought to myself upon seeing it at the local book store "that's special, that's rare..That's.. Too freaking expensive to pay for a toy and NOT make it part of a permanent installation!" xD

Top left-hand side of the screen, click the 'KitMaker Network / Browse Sites!' tab. Links to all the major sites and even a bunch of specialty and regional sites.

Personally didn't care for the 'Believe' campaign as it signaled the start of the terrible 'power up' age Halo is stuck in now. But that's just my meaningless opinion.
