I'm going to be popping a Trumpeter BMP-1 turret on to the back of one of my Meng pickups instead of the Dragon one I have (which is horribly the wrong size)...so that leaves me with a BMP-1 lower hull to do something with...is there anything out there that I could use to replace the turret with?

I've seen BMP-1 with a ZU23-2. IIRC it was a Afghan modification.
Another option is to go with the fuel carrier version which will require some more job to convert it.

You could always do a "what if". It is a nice break from counting rivets. The stress melts away and it gives you artistic license.

Well Scott, you can wait for the conversions that are soon to come out of the BREM series or the Potak series. Both will use a turretless BMP-1...

What about a Czech made DTP 90/55
Here some walkarounds

It seems quite easy to build
Otherwise you could try to make the OZ-90 which is the ambulance

I'm pretty sure that last pic is a BMP-1 hull as it has 3 assault rifle firing ports whereas a BMP-2 only has 2.
Thanks

I've seen a couple photos of some Soviet APC that had no turret and an open top that was supposed to be used sort of how the American 'Alligator' landing craft were used.
Not sure if it existed or it was another vehicle entirely; Soviet armor isn't my field, if ever I had one!
EDIT: found it!

Not the exact picture, but it just gives you a good idea.
