I just opened my new 1/25 Academy Panther G... Same sprue, it just has a Jagdpanther mantlet on it....
So, Tanks secret is the "NEW" 1/25 Panther G..

BTW, for the naysayers that say this is a repop.. All the spues I looked at say "Academy Korea 2003".. So that tells me it's new... Although I am dissapointed the the tracks are rubber.. but they are very detailed, so they might not be that bad. #:-) #:-)

Nice going Tankcarl. Cool cat!!
I have some questions for you:
1) what mesh do you use for the grills. Is it a standard sheet and you cut out what you want? Who makes this? Is it hard to get the circle right?

2) the camo spots. Is it usual only to have yellow spots on the green and brown? Is there no brown spots on the green and yellow, or green spots on the brown and yellow? Confused? I am! #:-) . Not trying to catch you out ... i havent a clue about this myself. Its just something I have noticed now. I have seen the ambush scheme loads of times but never noticed this before. I was just wondering if you or anybody else could answer this so if I ever need this i will know too #:-) #:-) is there a rule for this camo?

To answer your questions,PB.
1.The mesh came from my spares box I forget what kit it came from, but as I was rummaging around for something, there it was.I cut a square large enough to go over the raised crew heater box on the left of the rear deck. Then once it was firmly super glued in place,I trimmed with a sharp exacto blade.I think one of my early pictures in the thread shows the pre cut scheme.

2.For the ambush scheme,I am thinking it was crew applied,by an artistic member.I believe the yellow spots in the green area makes sense, sunlight filtering through a tree. And I only put a few brown spots,to appear like openings to see "down" to the 'ground"
All ad lib,and I like it.This is NOT a contest or museum quality build, its just fun and fast.

I think.

Tank Carl Nice Panther one of my favorite tanks - in fact a conversation about owning a Panther was the start of the DSB (++) (++) - oink freakin oink - I can't wait to see the finished product. The weathering appears to be coming out well!
