Hi fellas.

Went in to the LHS to spend some of my rewards points I've racked up. While browsing in their new arrivals section I see it. Boom. Trumpeter BM-21 Grad. Naturally I scooped it up and I also picked up the Trumpeter KV-122.

Going to crack those boxes open right now. For the interested I could put up pictures of the grad kit tomorrow.

I live out here in Orange County, CA. Couple miles away, I've got Brookhurst hobbies. Conveniently a small detour away from work. Just remembered, I also got a look at the Trumpy BTR-70 Late.

The kit

Gonna have lots of small bits, detailed suspension and an engine.

Launch tubes come in halves.

There's a cab interior

Hey!
The kit itself is not bad.
But this is not the early version, because the 375D based vehicle, but this vehicle is 4320 base.
Unless the fuel, the fuel tank size, wheel rims (lots of screw, two half pieces), lamp mounting brackets, engine, bonnet, nose, and the whole vehicle cooling.
The kit is missing the driver's cab air ventilation.

This being a Trumpeter kit people always whinge about things no matter what. If there are errors then show us the errors. I can't see any drivers cab ventilation installations in the pictures.
You are a lucky so-and-so camradeKP. I think we should all be happy that someone has actually released a good model of the GRAD at a marvellous price.
My opinion.

Errors are present in the drawing. The model is not held in his hand. Of the errors in the model - the inscription УРАЛ mirror ЛАРУ.
And the model is really worthy.

I need to say.... you know little about BM-21.... BM-21 based on 375d has 2 version. bm-21 on ural 4320 has 2 version, too.

Hi Pavel.
I wasn't having a go at you personally, it is just the way the vast majority of Trumpeter kits are put down for nit-picking stuff.

And, the tires on Dragon's panzers say "Continentau" instead of "Continental". But, lets get back to issue at hand. УРАЛ mirror ЛАРУ is easy to correct with a little light sanding and .1mm wire.

They say that so they don't have to pay Continental royalties. I thought it would be great free-advertising myself.....

Another mistake (in the model) - connection to the frame no.

Another difference, which is not directly connected with the change of the base of automobile chassis, but appeared in the same period protective shield on the guides. Screen appeared on the experience of application in combat conditions in the hot Afghanistan. In the stand on open sites of machines, heating shells from the sun in the package before volley reached such an extent that ignition of the rocket charge caused the explosion of the shell in a pipe. And that's to protect from the heat of the sun and become an additional screen.
You talk about these differences? With shield and without?

Yes, the first Ural gasoline 375 (canvas roof), then came the 375D (fixed roof), prepared for the BM-21 multiple rocket launcher body.
Modernized, developed for the truck, the new diesel version was in 4320, and which are posted on the superstructure.

I did not see how you could tell they were not there from that picture, and the instructions tell a different story.. Thanks Mokush!

Hi Warren

I guess in fact Juhasz was talking about the missing exterior air intake flap, just in front of the windshield. As far as I can tell, it doesn't appear in the instructions....but I think you could scrib it quite easily

BTW, the flap was included in Eduard PE set designed for the previously released URAL truck kits (part #11) :
