hi guys,
I remember seeing a picture of an iraqi t-72 tank with a modifed exhaust re-routing system.
Anyone familiar with that? I tried to search via google and kitmaker search engines using keywords 'Iraqi T-72 exhausts' but up to no luck :S
Any help is much appreciated!
cheers!

Hi there,
A fellow in our local club was building an Iraqi T-72 with a re-routed exhaust. It is featured on the On The Way 1/72 scale site and you can find pictures HERE
Cheers,
Jan

@Frenchy,
Way to go Frenchy! You saved me the trouble of asking the guy for scans from his book. Besides the exhaust I believe he also mentioned that there were two other mods on that version. I'll see about checking with him when I get a chance.
Cheers,
Jan

iking,
Basically, a cover plate seals off the normal exhaust opening forcing the exhaust to be routed down the pipe. From what I recall the fellow saying, it was initially developed during the Iran/Iraq war. In the picture below you will notice the Chinese made Infrared jammer that performs a function similar to the Russian Shtora.
I have sent a message to the guy and asked for further information about any other modifications. His build was based on photos in a book dedicated to the T-72.
Cheers,
Jan

looking forward to your build, all those different versions of what seemed to be the T72 make it really confusing to know what wich or whoms version we have when we see one on the screen;)
doesn't anyone else have the same feeling
that every time you look at a T72's turret, one notices another bulge or dent, noone seem to be identical

thanks comrade! yup im not yet that familiar with the proper versions of the T-72s. I can see that no serious hull or turret mods are needed for this build. The tamiya kit provides the IR jammer so i guess that will work together with the added modifed exhausts.
Thanks a gain and cheers!
