Hello everyone,
I have not started my build yet, but I've been watching all the fine work going on here..
Saw a shout out for a ribbon and threw a little something together. A bit different from some others I have made.
This one is a stylized armored car design.. very simple very stylized.. Just an idea to throw out.

That's coming on Rodolfo.
Delbert, that ribbon looks perfect. We'll give it a few days to see if there are any other contenders

The job so far. I use an old ship builders trick to make wooden truck beds, firstly cut out the base size in 30thou Plasticard marking the middle, then apply the planking strips alternatively.
[
[
As I had a pretty free day I also started on the cab. Basically just a box of 30,20 and 5 thou card.
To give the effect of riveted boiler-plate I built the cab in 20/30 thou, then I cut out templates sized to cover them.On the reverse I marked out pencil lines and using a school safety compass( they have smaller, stubbier points) I marked out a row of rivet heads and the turned over and applied the sheet.
Tacked together it starts to look a bit more like the subject in hand.
Gentlemen thank you for your kind words, from the builds already seen we are in good company on the campaign.
Murdo, I tried that build one a long time ago and when only the gun barrel was left I gave up. If you complete it, you deserve a medal ,not just a ribbon
regards

I am calling the truck built.
Next up the locomotive fireboxes, then final check and paint. That will be interesting because of the nature of the beast. What they truly were is anybodies guess. I am also in a rush as I plan to take it up to Dublin in a couple of weeks for the IPMS/Ireland Nats.

Howdy Y'all
@Mecanix-awesome, wished I could scratchbuild like that. Keep going, can't wait to see it finished.
I progressed a little further on my 1/72 Italeri M-8. I'll work on it a little more in a couple of weeks if I get time. Next up is a gloss coat and decals. I straightened the .50 cal after the photos were taken.
Y'all take care now,
Don "Lakota"

I forgot that it must have wheels. Can you please allow this one to slip by? I don't mean to be unfair to the other participants, but I don't see myself as having enough capital to invest in another kit.

For the smoke boxes on the truck bed I took some plastic waste pipe and wrapped it in 20thou card
From the sheet that the disks came from I cut some support brackets and three smaller disks for the rear door. The brackets formed a ladder base for the cylinder
Then using 5thou card and the bolt making method I descsribed previously, I wrapped the cylinder to create the effect of four boxes joined together.
Which gives me
and this
Trimmed and tidied I get,
Finally it looks like this,
next the paint shop by the week-end and to figure out how it was bolted to the truck.

I'm trying to keep up with these so a quick update on my Hobby Boss M3a1 Scout Car. The engine is a nice piece and could really be detailed up with just a little added work. I test fitted the engine to the chassis.

I’m not in this campaign, but wanted identification on an armored car I saw in two photos, and this seemed a likely place to find SME’s (subject matter experts).
The text on one photo looks Italian, but it also seems possible they might be eastern European. One of them could have double turrets, but the second turret is possibly behind the vehicle.
