here my T72A
Zvesda rebox,old
needs work
trumpeter tracks, had to make the sprockets 22 less wide
metal barrel i picked up at a show
rest homemade, eyeballed, don't need to be totally accurate, just look like a T72,have some fun with an oldie before the better ones make it disappear in the corner of my stash
setting in a current mid east conflict,as respect to both sides I will not name it this or that with name, I chose "Anno 2013" as title.

Hi;
Is this a Tank from the Video about Darriya ? the off color storage bin is like one of the T-72bv's thats in the video.
The Tanks shown in the video would make a great source of info,
on how too show Battle Damage.
CHEERS; MIKE.

thanks Dan and Mike!
Well, Mike
I've been watching footage from Syria through different media sources, and this one is and mix of different observations I've made through those past 2 years of conflict.
type of T72, had to look a while to find the right one, as most are URAL type with telescopic thingon the right of turret, or are uparmoured types, (straighter front of turret),then we have the footage from ANNA on you tube and sorts, "Men against Tanks" very helpfull to get a look at what actually happens to an AFV or tank, well any concrete city when war rages.
those are T72BV's (getting the red bin from)
colour is somewhat resembling a T72A picture I've seen
and fender damage taken from footage showing a T72"Turms",the ones with the bigger box/bulge on the left turret top.
I've been watching hours just to get a glimps of this or that detail, and to have a feel for the thing because I am also working on a small dio to go together with this T72.

just came across this footage, with english subs, from ANNA
we see a T72 get hit by mine and resqued by recovtank whiles under protection of several other T72's,
now this footage raised some Questions(I see numerous people saw this post,so one will know I guess)
1: The barrel on the tanks seem not to have the attachmentrings/belts like onmy RMB barrel,do they lack the thermallayer,or is this another type of barrel?
you can clearly see it's green, and the fumeextrator is yellow, tank also yellow, replacement barrel?
(heard they tend to burst in hot conditions)
2: at 7:37 we can clearly see the back of a T72 turret, with that famous layer ontop,do all have that
(I have a similar build going and wondered if I could make it into a Syrian one as well?)
i assumed from footage they didn't have it, the Bmp2's don't seem to carry it (please save me a lot of work in tellin' me wrong )
hope you like it (no gore or offensive language in the video, just tankcam footage, dust, and lot's of yummie details of tanks actually fighting in a place a tank isn't supposed to fight, downtown)

Hi;
The Thermo sleeve on the 125mm Gun can be seen with & without the sleeve or only half of it left on either in front or the back, The 125mm Sleeve after its been on the Gun is easly Dis-placed, the retaining bands come loose and parts of the sleeve will slip on the Barrel. Sometimes you can see the Barrel with the sleeve up-sidedown. The retaining Bands come loose after repeated fireing's.
CHEERS; MIKE.

Looking good Mr Pitt,
One thing that i would do is a pin wash of brown oil paint around the areas of heavy detail , just to add the extra depth.
It's really coming together now mate, but we need more pictures

thanks Dan,Mike, seems you are the only 2 modellers on armorama who even bother in reply'n,anyways
Dan, the pinwash already done, but toned down extremely by another wash of dustcolour (to settle in the crannies)
and just dusted it some more (as seen on them ANNA posts) and will add some fine debris on the tank too.
today 2much work, posting more pics will be for a bit later, tonight I made a storage rack from left over Lasagna dish( was yummie) and already have it 'stuck' under the T;)

Great job Pit, I really like the damage to the skirts and the red turret box, very cool contrast. I've never built a Tamiya T-72, but have built a couple DML/Zvezda ones and have another in the stash. It may not be the best kit out there, but it's fun, and as you've shown, with some love and care it can still look great. Your T-72 looks awesome.

I still have friends over the ocean
thanks Guys for the "head up"
thanks Mike, looking forward to a BV "syrian style",hopefully you'll go for the cool, ripped up ones, with the concrete added armour, and "special" skirts...
thanks Dan; glad to hear it made you have intrest in the subject, and hopefully from you too a build report.
thanks Seth, glad to see a reply from you too, glad you like it,didn't want to go extra on the detail stuff,I have one laying around on witch I already did a lot of work(i'll post that later on...) and did't want to spend a month in scratching small details, wanted to go "gutt feeling'" on this one,and to the untrained eye it looks ,feels, and breathes the current tragedic "air" of that conflict ( that's my feeling at least
have a dio setting already in progress, but don't know if I should just hit you all with a finnished one,or should I make a seperate topic and use some "in build pics" and then post it here?
