Hi all.
Am building a Tamiya BT-7 and will also start an Eastern Express BT-7A. Have Eduard PE sets for both. The PE set for the Tamiya comes with a bit of an interior. Plan on expanding on it a bit more. Hopefully something like this:
but have one question when it comes to the turret.
Those two boxes at the rear are what exactly? Radios? Don't feel like leaving them as is.
Any help on this? Thanks.

They look like more ammo storage boxes. The four large holes in the sides are just to reduce weight.

I guess Christopher is right. Here's the BT-5 turret which has a similar layout :

Great, thanks.
Now, anyone happen know a source for 45mm rounds? Only thing I've seen around are Mini-art. Kinda hoping for something in brass, and I'm gonna need multiples. Want to fill this one up!

Comrade, you can try Hussar Productions:
http://hussarproductions.com/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&view=productdetails&virtuemart_product_id=128&virtuemart_category_id=35
They are sold through a Canadian company:

Hope that helps. I struggled to find any 45mm ammo from the usual suspects myself too. PMMS seem to recommend them though.
EDIT - Damn, 3 minutes too slow.

Yes, radios would only be placed there if the tank had the "clothes-line" antenna. If you want to go that route, you can yse the ones from NS35004 from North Star.
The Eduard ammunition racks either side of the gun are slightly wrong, there should be caps covering the nose of each individual round, the same for the bases.
You'll also need to source a sight for the main gun.

Yeah, that's the correct racks. Not sure if the floor mounted ones in the first photo of your first post are correct though, I'll have to check my references.
Good luck with your build, I've got a couple of these on the back burner. I might do one with the driver wearing experimental night vision gear, based on a photo I found.

My 5 cents if I may.
The floor ammunition storage was not by the walls but actually right on the floor in special boxes (kind of like T-34; same idea). here are the boxes:
There was also ammunition stored on the walls of a hull - both sides. Notice that the rounds were stored upside down:
The 45-mm rounds that were stored on the turret walls were also upside down (not like on a previously posted photo).
The ammo racks in the back of a turret were very different:

Here is what 45-mm vertical rack looked like:
That is actually T-26 interior.

As for the ammo racks, like this right?
