1/35 Object 279 announced
That should round out the trifecta, Tortoise, T-28, now the Object 279. Definitely bodes well for the future of other experimental Tanks making it into scale plastic.
I usually never really model this sort of thing but I really want this one.

It's injection moulded, so plastic, and expected release date is August.

Can't say I ever expected to see the 279 in plastic. That thing is so weird looking. I kinda hope these guys put out more weird stuff from Kubinka.

Leave it up to the Russians to build the ugliest tank I have ever seen.

The company is Takom, the same company who will be bringing us a 1/16 Renault FT. They are a new company so we can speculate about the cost but we'll have to wait and see.
I agree with Erik, I'd love to see some more bizzare Kubinka tanks released.
However, I still wish we'd get a new (or current..) company release some quality WW1 kits... Hey, a guy can dream.

If the price is right on this one I will pick it up for sure.
I agree with Mike too, I'd love to see a T-10 and T-44, maybe a JS-7 too.
Definitely looking forward for more info on this kit.

Apparently, Amusing Hobby is also developing a 1/35 scale Ob.279. When it rains, it pours, I guess.

Just the other day I was thinking that it would be awesome if there was a plastic kit of this tank. I wonder if I'll be able to get my hands on this.

Well I am in for one if around $100.00 Just another day I saw a new 1/72 TU-144 for 355.00 I think with CAD we are not going to keep up with what is new and coming out for the next couple of years.

I hate asking this question, but do we really need two different kits of the same one off prototype? Do these companies think there will be a big enough market for such a niche vehicle? This isn't paper panzers here..

Hi;
Well im not quite sure that this Tank is going too be a Big seller. And a kit this size & Complex is really going too be pricey, and not for the Faint of Heart
Again; I think either the ISU-130, T-10M, or the T-44 would have been a Better Draw.
And Really how many Modelers even know or Care about such a Starwar-ish looking Tank !
Maybe the Sci-Fi guys will like it

Well, it seems that we are getting model kits for everyone´s taste out there...
I´ll get one of these for sure, let´s wait to see if both are actually released so we can see which is the better one.
By the way, if anyone doesn´t like it, just don´t buy it, there´s a lot from where to choose these days.

I think I'll pass, it seems more like an exercise in patience, as I find building tracks and running gear the least fun part of AFV modelling and the Obj 279 takes the drudgery of cleaning and building tracks and running gear to a new level, sorta like the Dragon T28...
...and sign me up for a T-10M and a T-44...
...and, oh, how about a Su-122-54?

In plastic? There's an excellent one available in resin from Hobby Planet, got the kit, it's gorgeous!
