I was under the impression that all Canadian RG-31's had the RWS installed. Here is one in what looks to be the same Medium Green as the LAV's without a RWS.

There were two types on Nyalas operated by Canada in Afghanistan.
The version you have posted in the RG-31 Nyala MPV (Mine Protected Vehicle). There are differences in the roof hatch configurations from the later version as well as a different level of armoured protection. They were used for Engineer Recce tasks.
The RWS version is the RG-31 Nyala APV (Armoured Patrol Vehicle) and these were purchased in much great numbers.
The Kinetic kit can't be used OOB for the MPV version.
Both of these versions were predated in the Canadian Army by the Mamba.
