Judging from the pricing of recent releases by both companies I would expect the Trumpeter kit to be in the region of 20-30% cheaper than the Meng kit, in the UK atleast

In the HK stores, the newer Trumpeter T-64 series are close to MENG's T-90 price. I'm hoping Trumpeter's T-90 doesn't end up being more expensive than MENG's!

From the prices that are on e-bay for both the T-80 & 90 it should be in line with the rest, now the range is from the 60$ Dollar range to the 40$ range on the T-80.
The T-90 is in the Mid, 30s price range, which is a great deal. Now you still have too pay shipping

it seems many unnecessary PE and some parts that would had look finer in PE are solid plastic moulded.
For example, some belts and straps like those in the boxes

I have made many Trumpeter and Hobby boss kits and many of them lacked of this fault. I remember the Panhard EBR 10 which included some very poor rubber moulded wheels when the vehicle ones are metal.

What may seem unnecesary for you might be better for Trumpeter to engineer the kit keeping it within a not too complex one for all kind of modellers, we don't know...
And if anyone wants to super detail or improve the basic kit, there always be Voyager, ET Models and other AM companies, not to mention Miniarm, that also have to feed their families...
I agree about the annoying rubber wheels of the EBR kit, but that has nothing to do with this release, which I'm really happy with.

I'm a not T-72 family specialist but I see very strange gun barrel.

Since I don't have access too the Real Thing, and cant comment on the Barrel as for it not being correct.
Tell us whats wrong with it, you live there and have access too the real vehicle. From what I can tell it looks fine too me. And if its not correct im sure the AM Boys will Correct it !

I don't have an access to newest Russian tank. But I don't saw same barrel with cast turret.Only with welded turret.

Meng has shown us early the T-90 CAD drawing of a cast turret T-90,so if you can wait for that......

That's a very basic CAD drawing shown back on 2011, did you see any recent announcement of a tentative release date?
I was searching for any reference but found nothing
By the way, why hijacking a tread of a Trumpeter's future reléase -whenever it might be- with a reference to other manufacturer?
It's becoming a standard use todays, it seems...

Meng should be the most accurate one IMHO, I just mentioned Meng is planning on T-90 cast, I feel little bit disappointed when trumpeter goes for T-62-->T-64----->T-80&T-90 instead of giving us a T-72.....and here comes my little revenge, For T-90 kit I'll buy Meng's
