Can anyone tell me what the serial might be in this pic and also, what version of jeep is in the photo?
TIA

BTW, those are "B" Squadron tanks from the Lord Stathcona Horse in Korea.

It looks to me like the M-20 belongs to the Americans among all those Canadian tanks. Would this be on loan to the Canadians?

The M-8 Greyhound in the photo might belong to the Vandoo's , who are getting a nice ride on the back deck on the Shermans.

Just for starters, it's an M8 not an M20. The M20 was the turretless liaison vehicle.
I'm pretty sure we had some in Korea. I seem to remember that Brig Rockingham (Cdr of 25th Cdn Inf Bde) had one and there maybe others assigned as Commanders' chargers.
Since it seems like the infantry is going into an assault on the Shermans, it would make sense that the Brig. was watching to see how the units of his Bde were getting along.

Novice question: Since this is Korea and not WWll, were Commonwealth troops still using so many US stars (on the M8)? Are those civilian children near the M8? They look like very small people.

Not Brig Rockingham's M8 as his was missing the main 37mm gun, mantlet area filled, mounted a Bren on the top.
Those do look like locals next to it.

Yes, the Star was the common UN ID marking throughout the Korean war. The US did supply the majority of the non-Korean forces so it makes sense.

Does anyone know what other marking the Greyhound would have for Canadian use?

From the premier site for modern Canadian armour related topics....
http://www.network54.com/Forum/169232/thread/1363529408/M4a3e8+%26quot%3BBacchus%26quot%3B
The Canadian Greyhounds in Korea were used by Armoured units, Infantry unit, and Command elements.
I'd say the Greyhound in the pic posted by Brad is with the LdSH(RC) due to the crewman in the turret wearing a black beret. The Infantry on the ground and on the back decks are all wearing helmets or field caps.

Thanks very much Jason for those. It also helps me with my B Squadron tracks on the easy 8's. Again, thanks those are awesome and will help me with my Korean War project. Now to get going, I only hope I can get it done in time for 11 Nov.
Cheers

I took a look at those pictures, and I noticed one of the Canadian Greyhounds had USA on the side of it, so I presume Canada borrowed some during the Korean War.
