Hello everyone, here’s another that could be the opposite to my “Desertised” campaign.
How about a campaign for all those land vehicles that can swim (floatables/amphibious) and are able to fight as well?
They have to be able to swim of their own accord and not snorkel.
Here are a few examples:-
105mm DUKW’s
All LVT’s
Early Scorpions (FV101)
DD Sherman
BTR’s
BMP’s
BRDM’s
VW Schwimmwagen
Type 2 Ka-Mi
Type 3 Ka-Chi
M551 Sheridan
AAV‘s
AVGP‘s
The list is endless, but I guess you all get the idea.
You guys can choose the start dates, but I wouldn't go before February 2014.
Cheers
Paul

Ok, you got me itching. I guess it is a good chance to build Trumpy's BMP, (i got it as a present for my birthday from a good friend and colleague), although it will require some changes to become one of ours. Count me in.
PS: I've lost track of the campaigns i'm in.

Paul, how about -- III / IV Tauchpanzers, LWS, PzFahre, will these qualify? Cheers, Tat

I'm in.
I'm not sure what I would do though. I've got a couple of unbuilt scuba figures from Dragon's Navy Seal set I'd like to try to use somehow. That could be a tough one though.

I have a couple of "eastern bloc" kits of the Russian T-37A and T-38 amphibious tanks... wretched kits but doable. At least some of them reportedly actually floated in action!
I'll toss my hat in on this and assay to do both - they are small and have few parts! Low parts-counts count, if you do, say, about 1 part per hour!
Bob

Cool, first replies and the usual questions
John glad to see your willing to jump in the deep end
Tat welcome to you too, but that is a no to the LWS and Panzerfähre, they are not armed and personal weapons or holding an MG34 doesn't count dude. Apart from that I would think these are better off in Matts "Engineering the Future" campaign, as these things fall in the engineer / pioneer area.
I will let the snorkels in, but only if they are built showing the snorkeling mode
Is that ok?
Hi there Alex, I was really aiming for vehicles, but if you do those figures swimming, I'll take that.
Is that alright with you?
Hello Bob, you can do both as far as I'm concerned. I know what you're getting at, low parts - low tech - low price - low everything . But you could go crazy and scratch build all the lovely details Whatever, welcome to the swimmers club.

Paul, I was thinking more about finding a vehicle to use the figures with..like an accessory. The figures are posed as one walking with a MP-5 and the other taking a knee with a MP-5 ready. Not a whole lot you can do with them.
What about What-ifs? I'm thinking about an airboat or something like that. Airboats can actually operate on land, but that's really pushing the spirit of the campaign. My apologies...it's Top Gear USA.

Anyway, something will come to mind. Desert and now water...can we expect a winter combat campaign around next July or August?

Ok Alex, I must admit that I didn't know anything about the figures, that sounds cool enough.
or
If you can build an "air boat" and fit a .50cal to it I'll let that go to.
As to the winter job, I don't know yet, but it would be great
to get a campaign called "brass monkey weather" going

If it starts some time next year I would be interested. I need to start learning how to replicate water as well, and this would be good motivation.

I have Cyber Hobby re-box of the Italeri LVT-4 in the stash
Even though this kit is a dog I guess I could build it again

Thanks Paul. I'll try to find something. I might even just do a M113 with floats. I've got another idea that's a bit more light-hearted. Take a Ford GPA Amphibian, DUKW, or Schwimmwagen and have a soldier using it as a boat to fish from.

Thanks for counting me in Paul. No worries. Still a lot of time to think about it and make the choice. Cheers, Tat
