Has anyone ever used the Airwaves AFV35-055 PE set for a Russian KV1? I received one today in the mail and while most parts on there are straightforward, there are a few that I have questions as to where they are supposed to go. Searched for a guide for this set but no luck so far.

Upload a decent sized picture of the PE fret and it may help us to help you. If you identify the parts you are struggling with it may help as well.

I recognize the intake grill covers and the supports for the fenders but the placement of the others, well that's the issue. I know I will kick myself once I find out. It will be obvious I'm sure.

Entire fret:

1st questionable parts: I am assuming that the parts marked C are hinges for the tool stowage boxes.

What I meant was that I know the grill covers, fender brackets and the hinges for the tool stowage, it's the rest of the little bits I can't quite grasp. Parts B, D, E, F, J & K are the ones in question.

B is the storage device for the bow saw.
D is the handles for the boxes.
E is the reataining bracket on the side of the tank for the tow cables.
I cannot help with F.
I cannot help with the bolt details in the last picture.

I suggest doing a search for KV PE sets on Eduard as the PDF instructions will help with shape and location as well.

I would have to respectfully disagree on "B." That does not look like the typical stowage for the bow saw. I looks to me like a "flapper" valve that goes under the screen. And if you look at the shape of the ends, it appears that part "F" has the same shape - since there are four they probably go on the other side of each flapper valve on the ends. T-34 had a similar arrangement which is what leads me to believe that's what they are.

You may well be correct Rob as I did not register the end pins, that said I always believed that under the intake was a series of vanes rather than a single one which is how they are depicted by Trumpeter.

It shows the position of those mystery bolts as well, although since that set came out we now have hex rod which would look much better. I'd replace those handles (part D) with wire as well.
Sooo... lets see some progress photos now that you've gotten that sorted out.
