This is the Trumpeter M1A2 with a few modifications . I decided to display this tank in a defensive firing position during gunnery . The ground work still needs painting and the tank needs a bit of work (this is in progress) . All comments are welcome .
Front view of the tank in the turret down position
left view (still need to add the smoke launchers )
Over head view
Head on view
had to add my own personal touch
Close up of some of the wire I added to replace the grab handle , wire step , and fender brace

Carlton,
What can i say another great M1 out of the hands of TT-13.
What do you make your bases out of?
will be great to see it finished.

Lord Toadster
As usual, another quality Abrams from the Toadman---looks good. I've got this one new in box ready for next years "Brother Abrams Groupie Build" Nice touch with the logo'd pennant, and wire work. Your pics are always enjoyable ---- neat base set up also!
How is the kit build? Any tips?
Keep us posted please.

Toad -
Very sweet looking M1 ya got there - I especially like the camo paint job, expertlie done... nice to see the colors as opposed to desert sand all the time :-) hehehe
One question though, do we ever use the Abrams in a defensive role? hehehehe
Pity the attacking fool, eh?

Nice M1 TT13. I really like the camo and the flag. What else is going on the base? It looks abit lonely on that big base by itself!

Howdy TT,
Just another opportunity for me to crank up the 'envy' meter ! Very nice work (as usual :-) ). I have said it before, and I have nary a problem saying it again, I love the fact that you almost alway think/present your models in a dio setting. I do as well, so I can really appreciate that you do too!

Thanks for the comments !
Andy : I used styrofoam with fiberboard backing on the top and bottom -culuclay for the ground work - styro foam to build up the berm and balsa wood for the wall as i will show in this pic
WWH : Thanks for noticing the flag ,I actualy made a flag to fly on my 1/1 scale M1A1 (with my CO s aproval)
SS-74 : Thanks (n/t)
JR : This a tank shown during gunnery training , tank crews are required to fire from the defence ( more of European scanero )
Goose : Thanks - if you need any M1 reference let me know
Plastic Battle : Most of the tank ranges that I have been on are large open areas . A M1A2 can control a large amount of ground from a statonary position so that is kinda what I am after here
Roo and Fredenburg : thanks this one has been a lot of fun
Treadhead : I agree a tank looks kinda lonely with out a base to show what it is doing . I hope that this tank is in my future - the M1A2 - My unit is suposed to be the 1st Nat. Guard unit that will get the A2
Ya'll have a good one Toad out
