Aloha everyone!!!
As part of my list to Santa I'm asking for either a Trumpeter LAV-III or AFV Stryker. My question to you is this--I want to do a contemporary variant from a home front unit but need to know if the Canadian Army upgraded all their LAV-III's to the later "Afghanistan" version(s), even those being on the home front, this way I'll know if I need to drop the money myself for the Real Model conversion set.
Thank you in advance!!!
Kurt

Hi Kurt,
Unfortunately the Trumpeter kit and the RM conversion have the applique armor plates molded on; the ones stationed in Canada don't have them - just the mounting bosses visible.(see Dan Hays' photos on Prime Portal for a representative LAV-III in Canada.)
