Hi Guys,
Here are some photos of my Syrian T-34/85 nearly completed. The turret is the old CMD Czech and I added some Syrian modifications. These included the very intricate DshK A/A mount on the commanders hatch. This was made from brass tubing and a lot of trial and error. The smoke pots came from an AFV club T-34. I spent a few hours tonight painting the crew and did some work with pigment powders and filtering of the paint. The tracks were replaced with AFV club workable tracks. The decal was adjusted to better duplicate the actual tank inscription. I intend to pose it on Golan groundwork so look to see this one in the Diorama thread.
Best Regards,
Ed Okun
Cheers:)

Man, I like that. Anything from that conflict is of interest to me, but your work always impresses. That MG certainly doesn't suffer from "Low T."

Hey Guys,
Thanks for the kind words. To answer the question about the DshK cupola mount, it was scratched from brass tubing, sheet plastic and some odd bits I had in the spares box. Really not to hard to make just needed good reference photos which I finally collected over the years. I'll post them if anybody wants them. As for the decal, the top A/C ID circle was cut from a 32nd scale roundel I had in my decal collection because I was having some trouble to cut a very clean circle in masking paper. I had some little raggedy edges which I didn't like. The Arabic inscription came from a decal provided by CMK with their Czech T/34 turret. It needed some adjustment to get it just right. I'm no Arabic reader but I had good photos of the original tank so I referenced that and cut the decal into individual parts.
Cheers

Hi Ed
Looking better dusty, will keep an eye out for your diorama.
Did you use the mk1 eyeball scaling device for the mg mount.
Did Egypt use the same mount or was it just Syria.
Syrians had some of these dug in on the Golan in 73 as static defences, from the photo I have saw some action to.
