I need a metal barrel for my T-80, but I'll wait for some reviews on this set.

I have no experience with Tetra, sorry.

Looking over the T-80U PE set for the Xact kit, it has some good pieces and some that may not help much. I like the fuel drum holders and the exhaust lattice, but I am not so sure the ERA plates, side skirt plates, or the Ammo boxes are much of a help.

I have no idea if the barrel is correct. Sorry. Someone is going to have to bite the bullet and buy one for review!

Hi Everybody;

This set looks almost like a must have for the T-80. Now let me explain myself, most kits benefit from a PE set when they lack details that need that added detail. Upon looking at this set, I can see some nice details. But having not purchased this kit as of yet, I am forced too hold back my need for a set this size. And the Barrel seems too be on par with the RB item, which was not very accurate and a Royal Pain too put together. So I think that I will stay with Model Points Barrels, altho the Voyager item looks pretty nice. I think that I am going too have too go along with JD on this one.---Sorry Tetra

The only problem I have with these PE sets is that there is a lot of unnecessary redundancy...Why the PE for the ERA tops? Why the PE for the front flaps or the side skirts. I think they are simply filling space to up the price, not actually offering a good PE set...

You made the point Jacques.
The PE parts in the Xact T80u box are more than sufficient.

The on piece moulded barrel is a step forward compered to old fashioned Tamiya barrels. Although it is inaccurate according to PMMS

It would be nice to have an accurate replacement.
