I just picked up the Trumpeter Russian 2S1 SPG, which is a very nice kit, and was wondering if anyone knows of any after market tracks and metal barrel for this unit...?
Regards, and MERRY CHRISTMAS to ALL

Hi;
Yes there are both, and you should be able too order them from one of the Many Venders. ie; Hobby Easy, Lucky Models, Hobby Link Japan, Soga Military Miniatures, Armor35ru.
GOOD LUCK; MIKE.

Of the top of my head Fruil has very nice tracks, and Barrel Depot has a gun tube(designed for the Skif kit BTW). I've used both on my recent Skif 2S1 build. I believe Trumpeter has a set of workable plastic tracks as well. I'm curious, what don't you like about the kit tracks?

I have the Trumpeter aftermarket individual tracks and they are very nice. IIRC the kit tracks are link and length.
Cheers,

I am not a fan of link and length tracks, and I like the characteristic "sag" you can get from metal tracks. I'm just a "parts" nut mostly, and I like getting model "stuff" in the mail...nice end to a usually insane work day at the hospital...!!
Cheers all, and thanks for the tips,

I didn't realize they were link n length, I don't get along with them very well. Fruils are the way to go then.

I hear ya Erik...! Anyway, I trapesd all over the net to as many sites as were mentioned and MORE...NO LUCK on the barrel.
If anyone has a barrel for the 2S1 they are willing to part with, I will gladly pay double for it.
Regards,
thehermit

Yes I built he Skif 2s1 and I used Friul tracks and a barrel depot gun, the trumpeter kit may need a bit of work to fit the barrel as it is designed for the skif kit
