Hey all,

This is my first finished model in well over two years. These LAVs are a lot more work than they originally look to be! In preparation for taking it to the local model club, I took some pics. It is amazing what the camera shows you that you don't notice while it is on the table in front of you. I think the barrel is slightly warped, missed some dust/dirt up underneath the turret, and could use more on the lower hull. Didn't even think to add the non-slip surface. Grrr... Some of these, I can fix, the rest will have to wait for the next build.

Thanks, Tom. I added a few more pics. The more I look, the more I see that I need to change. I should also clarify that I knew from the get-go that this isn't a deployed LAV..

Looking forward to my next LAV build; friend of mine is going to supply some pics of the LAV he commanded in theatre. Luckily for me it isn't a LORIT He had red teeth hanging from the front. He also had a blow up sheep (yes, from a naughty store, lol) that travelled with him everywhere...even on the side of the turret in combat. How on earth do I model a blow up sheep?!!?

Cool build

Is it the Trumpeter kit OOB??

I agree that a bit more weathering would be nice especially on the lower hull, but besides that you did a very good job.

What did you use for the green colour??

Thank you for sharing
Ole

Thanks for the kind words. Yes, Ole, it's the Trumpeter kit, OOB. I used Valejo Air Field Green for the paint.

BTW: Mrtaylor2 = Qtaylor. It'd been awhile since I'd been on the site, and had IE7 and memory problems :/
