Hello All,
Next June 25, 2015 will be the 65th anniversary of the Korean War.
I propose a campaign splite into 3 parts, like the Blitz campaigns, starting on June 25, 2015.
Part 1 will be the attack on South Korea by the North, with American and korean forces trying to stoping them., such as task force Dean, and the 25th infantry Regiments used in piece-meal raod blocks using old, worn-out equitment.
it will go on to the Pusan Primeter with the marines being used as the Fire-Brigade.
Part 2 will be the invastion of Inchon, the brack-out of the Pusan Primeter, taking of Seoul ( South Korea Capital) and the chase to the Chinese border. It will also be the counter-attack of the Chinese troops that pushed rhe U.N. troops back into south Korea.
Part 3 will be the see-saw battles of the hills that was fought in the last year of the war or "Police action"
I think that each should run 6-8 months, and that all types of modeling will be included IE: tanks, figures, planes, ships, RR, etc. I also think that diorama should be highly encouraged, stand alones are O.K. but Dio's tell a better story.
So what do you think? Please let me know.
Cheers,
Bruce

Bruce,
Sounds interesting. But how about breaking the three parts up as such:
Part 1- The North's invasion of the South to the Pusan Perimeter.
Part 2- Landings at Chosen up until the cease-fire.
Part 3- Cease-fire to present day.

Hello Alex,
Good Idea, But I want to honor the "Forgotten Warriors". Most are in thier 80+ yrs old and we are losing them very quickly as most were WW2 combat vet's who where reserves, That Truman ordered in.
I might add a fourth campaign: cease-fire to present day to the campaign.
Thanks for the idea,
Cheers,
Bruce

Interesting proposal and it really is the forgotten war.
Are you suggestion that people have to commit to the 3 or 4 campaigns or will it be a pick & mix selection?

Hello Sean,
I want to run it like the Blitzkrieg campaigns that I run now.
You can pick which campaign to do as each will have it's own ribbon.
hope that answered your questions, if not lrt me know.
Cheers,
Bruce

Oh, boy, I love anniversary themed builds!
Starting in June, I could do. I have a Tamiya Centurion I bought a few years ago for a 'Forgotten War' build some time ago but never joined.

Sounds good to me, hopefully by then my MAN CAVE is done and I can start to build again. I did two tours in Korea 1983-84 and 1987-88.
