Hi,
Sorry if this has been posted before. Im building the Meng T-90 and I don't think they have the engine colours right anyone got a break down of the engine colours and the engine bay colours? I cant find anything on the web but from first hand experience the Russians tended to paint the engines in hideous duck egg blue......
Thanks in advance
Richard

Hi Richard;
Depending on which references you follow, the Main engine block is Red with the other Components in a Dull Silver. Now you can find pictures with the engine block in Blue and the other components in silver. I would not pick the Blue scheme as I think the Red is the more Normal Color.
And I do not think that the Zavod would send out there engines in A Show Color Blue too Operational units in the Field. And remember the T-90s engine is just the same one that's used in the T-72, its just been Slightly Improved.
The one color that I almost forgot is Black, for the Exhaust Manifolds. You can find Info, and pictures on the e-net.
GOOD LUCK; MIKE.

Hi,
Thanks for the info and Photo's I thought the blue engine (as recommended by Meng was wrong. I have painted the block brown but now its in situ you cant see anything but the top of the engine anyway. At least I got the hideous blue the correct colour for the engine compartment.
Richard
