Hi Gang,
with the TAKOM Leopard C2 and the Legend update set released, I wonder if the TAKOM kit despicts an "early" model C2 and the Legend update is needed for a "late" model? And after the introduction of the Leo 2 A6 M and the Leo 2 A4 M, where the C2 retired?

TIA
H.-H.

The TAKOM C2 MEXAS kit depicts a version as it was first deployed in October 2006. When they were deployed forward in December 2006 and started combat operations from Mid January to Mid February. By mid Feb 2007 they went through a few modifications , and this is were the great Legends C2 MEXAS update set comes in. As of Mid feb 2007 the C2 MEXAS started continuous combat operations that would last right up to July 2011, when all Leopards were pulled from service, ending Canadian Combat Operations.
The Leopard 2 fleet is still arriving after their rebuild, and the Stock Leopard C2's are now starting to be retired.

Hope this helps, feel free to ask any questions in regards to Canuck Leopards.

There is a C2 MEXAS DVD reference set with close to 3,400 images and files available , just send me a message.

What about the thermal cover on the C2 like on the Perfect Scale Modellbau conversion ? Was it fitted from 2007 with the others updates that you talked about ?

According the Task Forces Kandahar book from Tankograd, Leopard 2A6M CAN arrived in Afghanistan in august 2007.

I don't know about the Leopard 2A4M CAN.
