Here is my Academy full interior TigerI.. Pretty much finished. It is my first "historically accurate" piece I have built. It is tank 312 of SpzAB 501 the served on the Eastern front in 1943... The pics don't do the real tank justice, but I think it turned out very well..

I used fruilmodel tracks, eduard barrel, tamiya 88mm brass rounds and painted with Tamiya acrylics
Comments are welcome.. Thanks for looking.. #:-)

Very nice looking tiger you have there :-) Thumbs up from me... hehe

You can never have too many Tigers in the Rivet Review Board.

Very clean build - and well painted as well!!! Great job there... The only suggestion I can come up with - would be to maybe drybrush a bit of "gunmetal" color over the steel parts on the tools. Those look pretty bright. The tow cables are excellent, I would do the tools in the same manner. Of course, that is just my opinion... I think it looks great as is..... :-)

What a nice Tiger! You could add a little more weathering on the engine compartment

I agree with the tools. Something that's cool about items such as tool is that most people own ones that are practically the same or very close. It's not hard to look toyour own tools or those of others, such as construction workers, for references.
Something else to think about is wear, such as the exhausts and barrel(the effects are nicely done though!). To see that much distress would indicate quite a bit of usage yet the interior and exterior would indicate that she just rolled out of the factory. Something to think about.
Very nice overall build though!

It looks like a clean job,of a fresh delivered tank. But to open up a can of worms, what color WAS the fire extinguisher color anyway?
I like doing mine in hull color, and there have been threads in other sites as to the real color.
Tactically speaking,I wouldn't want to be exposing a RED flag to enemy A/C...

Thanks for the good comments..
Tank,
I have built many other German tanks and this is the first time I have painted that extinguisher red, but I thought I would try something new and I will probably go back to the dk. yellow.. The tank is weathered pretty heavily, it just doesn't show up in the pics from my "cheapie" HP Digicam...Sorry...

There are two Tigers and a Sturmtiger model displayed and discussed in Osprey's "Scale Armor: Modeling the M4 Sherman & the VI Tiger Tanks" that are equipped with red fire extingushers. I don't have any histroical documentation for varication but these guys did it. Maybe the crew painted them to match in the field. I sure wouldn't want that spot of red sticking out. Although it is a 57 ton vehicle that is none too quite, every little bit helps.

Great job on the Tiger!
I am also doing one not yet finished!
Question which I have asked on other sites also Fire extingusher Color.
Can't still seem to fathom why they would paint in red and have all this Camo to hide the thing ever see how far off you can see this color.
To me almost like painting a tank in Gloss paint with a wax job on top !!! (:-) (++)

Are you going to keep it openable? Thats a great way to continue to show off you fine workmanship...noth worse than spending all that time detailing then sealing it up with armor and only being able to see 10% through a portal...comming along just fine...keep us posted

Kglack,
Thanks....
I plan on keeping everything open.. I put so much work on the interior, I definitely won't be sealing it up......

hworth18,

I am glad that you will not be sealing this up as the work is excellent and I think you have painted everything well. As to the fire entinguisher, if this was a new vehicle then it would be red but as soon as it got into the field and was resprayed it would be painted the same colour as the tank. The only thing I would change is the white colour of the interior. This was not strictly white but more of an eggshell colour. A light wash over the white could tone it down a bit.
