Aloha everyone!!! I'm currently working on Trumpeter's 1/35th scale T-72B Mod 1990 and was wondering about a couple things. 1) Is this upgrade otherwise once known as the T-72BM? Does it go under any other designation? And 2 (and most importantly) does anyone have an walk around detail photos of this variant? I've looked over pics of the T-90 thinking they're almost identical but am I wrong?
Thank you in advance!!
Kurt

Well, depending on who you talk to it could be called a BM. Before anyone says anything, I have heard it called a BM in Russian language sources referring to a mod 90(not the new Rogatka BM). The turret of the mod 90 is a cast turret with a similar armor setup to the cast turret of the early T-90. The current T-90 has a welded turret now. They look very similar although the T-72B mod 89 and 90 don't have the Shtora counter measure system most prominently seen on either side of the gun barrel. This link should help http://www.network54.com/Forum/47209/message/1210487267/Overview+of+T-72B+models

here's a walk around http://www.dishmodels.ru/wshow.htm?p=2865
identified as a B3. I think it's pretty much the same other than the f.c.s. from the T-90A .

The B3 is the latest incarnation, which you will notice lacks the anti-radiation cladding.

For googling, calling it the T-72BM will get you the most information. You will have to take care in what you see as the nomenclature of late 1980 to mid 1990 T-72's is in some contention or another...

Thank you all for the info and great info it is. Oh Jacques Trumpeter has added 2 different style engine deck options can you tell me, if you've seen the kit, which one of them is the most current option?
