This vehicle was built OOB as a distraction from the more involved projects. The fit was decent, though the accessories on the hull all had enormous holes that needed filling, and a wobbly wheel set. This had the advantage though of ensuring that all wheels touch the ground.
It was painted in color schemes shown of various captured BRDM vehicles, with no markings.
Still to do:
* Missile tubes
* Some color variations on body
* Dust coat, to take the shine off of those glossy tires
* Some paint chips
* shining up the handles
Let me know what you think so far.

Looks good. Does that Dragon comes with a figure? Instead of the Spandrel, does it have an included MG/Cannon as an option?

shonen_red,
This version does not come with a fig, nor the turret to make the BRDM-2 version. You'll need to drop the extra bucks to buy a second kit for that.
I've got a Soviet BTR-70 in the wings, though I think that will end up with UN markings.

If you want the one with the 14.5mm gun in a turret....get the BRDM 2....same kit....just the turret instead of the missiles.
Looks good MadMeex.....how was the build?
I built their BTR-80 and liked it alot.....other than the tires splitting after being on my shelf for about 6 months....
I also have their BRDM 2 and BRDM 3 as well as the BRDM 2 with the SA-9 launcher...so I have a potential of 12 more tires splitting!! I also have the Arsenal BRDM 1 which has alot better detailing on the wheels and tires...so I will probably end up casting the tire and wheel combo in resin for all of the kits.
How was the build? Fairly straight forward?
My only complaint on the BTR-80 was the hand hold bars...they were very thin and very delicate.....so after breaking all but one....I decided to replace them all with metal wire...worked out much better.
If you want to see pics of my BTR-80....go to:

there are subsequent pics....just hit next

viper,
The build was pretty straightforward. I didn't have a problem with the handholds breaking, but holes they went in were enormous pits - I guess they didn't want you to miss the spot. I read the reviews, heard about the tire split issues, but I figure if they split I'll pick up resin replacements or put mounds of gray powder around the bare rims and weavily weather with soot.
Putting those SA tubes on the turret was a major pain. The pin was small, didn't give a positive lock, so it was quite fiddly to get everything lined up, and they're the parts I still have to re-glue on occasion.
It gives the option to have those hatches/windshield covers open, but with no interior, what's the point. Again, I didn't want to drop the $ on AM.
Other minor point is that the axles on the bottom don't extend all the way into the body pan, so the wheels are driven by a little bit of magic.
Mating the top and bottom hulls required putty all around to keep a hairline crack from showing.
All in all, a decent three footer, which is really the way I like to build them.

I did the BTR and BRDMs a few years ago and you will have to watch the tires. They tend to spontaneously split. The good news is they respond to superglue but you may have a nasty seam.
