Concerning finish: I've seen more C2's in 3 tone than STD CARC
or sand.
Mmm, just the opposite I think. I've gone over my photos and quickly most of the ones on Anthony's disk and the only one I know for sure the hull is still 3 tone NATO is 78-85072. There may be a couple others but the majority are overall green. To be fair, there is so much dust on most of them it's hard to say, but definitely more green ones than camo.

And to clarify C2 or C2 MEXAS. More are CARC I'm say more C2
in 3 tone not the MEXAS
All MEXAS tanks I've seen are plain CARC Green

With the CARC green MEXAS modules added you can hardly see anything painted NATOflauge on C2s except the back deck and rear hull. If there were any C2s with a NATOflauge painted turret they would have been an anomaly.
Regardless of MEXAS or not, across Canada there were/are far more plain CARC green C2s that NATOflauge colours. Only a few C2s were not painted overall CARC green as Anthony explained.
You might see a combination of CARC green hulls and turrets with NATOflauge side skirts but they don't appear to be the standard to judge by. None of the C2s were ever painted in CARC sand.
