Fantastic news!
On an unrelated note: will that engine be suitable for the MAZ-537 as well?

We have some test sprue shots of the kit and seems fantastic! You will see soon a complete build review in Abrams Squad Magazine.

I predict eBay will be flooded with old Dragon Scud B's. Too bad the Scud C probably never saw service with the Soviets.

The C is a different, longer range missile. I don't think the TEL is different though.

This is GREAT NEWS! From what I can tell from these low res photos the engine looks useable for the 537. The transmission certainly looks correct with just the shortening of the driveshaft.
Maybe this means Trumpy is going to upgrade thire 537 as well????
One can only hope!

Would be nice if they took this TEL over and made a Smerch MRLS.

HO - LEE - CRUD. Oh well, I do not need money for food or heat, right? (And those 4 DML kits I have in the back stash...sigh.) But...beautiful.

Well, perhaps I'm a bit of a wet blanket but I really would have preferred a Scud A on the JS 3 chassis to be honest.
This might be a heresy but how bad was the Dragon kit? (a genuine question as I don't have one myself).
Sorry folks - but the Scud A would have suited me more.

The DML kit was very basic and the body sections did not fit together without magor sanding. I'm thinking it must be like 15 years old by now.

It came out soon after the first Gulf War, so almost 25.

Is it really a Scud-C? Note the blurb on poster says "All models are 11.35m long (except Scud-A which is 1m shorter)". I always assumed Scud-C was longer than Scud-B. Wouldn't be the first time Trumpeter has designation wrong?

I was going to ask about that. Since the SCUD -C apparently never went into service, this looks like a lovely kit of something that was never used. Odd.

HI i think the length refers to the actual missile and not the TEL that carried it, however i stand to be corrected on this.

I think Trumpeter has it wrong. To my knowledge there is only the SS-1B Scud A (missile name R11M) on a tracked chassis (2p19 TEL or the earlier 8U218). Then came the SS-1C Scud B (missile name R17) on an 8 wheeled truck (MAZ 543 or 9P117 TEL improved to 9P117M TEL and 9p117M1 TEL with different radiator venting on the left side. And then there are of course the Iraqi or Chinese versions called Al Abbas, Al Hussein and No-Dong. Looking at the box art, I would say it is a SS-1C Scud B on a 9P117M1 chassis, the latest version of the MAZ543, as used for instance by Poland.

In their Facebook page they are now announcing it as a Scud-B: "Breaking news!: still want to know when you can see the trumpeter 20th year anniversary products 01019 SCUD-B? Everything is done and will be sent to every continent that you can buy trumpeter models! Before that, let us see some nice photo when we measure the scud! Thanks to those friend who helped us a lot! And special thanks to the original manufactor!"
Already discussed here also, last Thursday :

Being myself a big fan of latest Trumpeter's releases, I think my money will go this time to Meng's kit, but we have to wait and see what both of them actually deliver inside the boxes..
