Greetings colleagues!
I myself am a frequent visitor to this wonderful site. But as something worthwhile to show there was no registration postponed.
So decided to share some of my achievements, but leave a couple of comments ...
Apologies for the long introduction, but I had to start somewhere.
So we are in a particular subject will focus on the construction of the BTR-70 early release from the company Trumpeter. I must say, as a man is going to the 70th of Dragon's / Stars that trampovsky completely different model (with capital letters) on the quality of performance, connectivity simple aerobatics, built without any "headaches", just say you can get pleasure)
I collect out of the box without any modifications, except one, on which everything hangs ...
I visited here as a thought (Schaub it failed !!!) stir up the antenna with working buffer and raced ... damn that day!
The antenna itself, i.e. pin a great mind to do it is not necessary, take the wire properly arched and as the saying goes-type Ti-limes and you're done! But this damn shock that I drank a lot of blood, it turned out much more complicated, that is, absolutely crap, I apologize for myfamous French, you know boiling) road by walking as they say, and then, less than a month, and already something beginning "to emerge."
That) I know, I know, a lot of beech, but boiling, please do not throw stools)
So ... to dig up a small-size and small images of a radio and te p-173 and BMP-1, a calculator, a caliper, and photographs, knowing the diameter of the base of just one day nakidal sizes.
and ...
and ... just in a month ... 0_0 there was light at the end of the tunnel)
Currently ready: Pin (meall) insulator first leg (metal) running buffer (metal + rubber) fuuuh!, upper insulator (rubber).
Left: kolpachёk rubber (tires) and holder (metal).
Yeah, work is not an opened edge, hopefully with a cap and clip cases will be easier ...
In my opinion because of such trifles as the antenna, optics, triplexes model is a more
alive. By the way I think to have a zamorochitsya for triplex and optics, though ... will have to thoroughly treat the nerves)))
]
Or who do not advise you to engage in the same garbage, IMHO hobby should be fun))) IMHO
Although the thing turns out quite decent.
P.S. nerves no good!)
And a little video;)

Wow! I didn't understand all you said, but the antenna and the mount are a work of art.
I think this is something a lot of people would like on their models. Have you thought about selling?

If you manage to do US antenna with base, I would be very interested in seeing it on market... I'm sure it would be a good seller if the price is reasonable.

I would say about $10 for fully functional antenna and the base. What do you think? Would it be worth the trouble of producing it?

This antenna is something the hobby could really go crazy for!
US antenna also greatly needed!
Kudos - beautifully done!
At first I did not understand what the title meant by "Buffer" but it becomes immediately clear. Perhaps call it "working strain relief" might be better but your solution is really A-1, Brilliant!

Thank you Michael for the kind words.
Yes, with the name of this element a whole problem, even in manuals of similar American antennas (mp-65, ab-558) not a word about the spring compensating the load on the antenna. This part of the antenna is called "масть басе body" and not a word about the spring.
