Hi All!
I'd like to ask if Trumpeter's workable tracks are any good? (eg. BMP-1, T-62, PT-76)
They appear sometimes pretty cheap in the shops, but I've never had any of them, so please share your experiences with me.
Thank you in advance!

Hi,

I have used Trumpy's workable tracks in a number of builds (the price is right!) The clickable T-64 and T-72 tracks are excellent, their more complex tracks for the T-80 and the M1A1 (T156) were pretty fiddly but no more so than similar tracks from other manufacturers and held together well. The only ones I haven't liked so far are the ones for the JS-3 because the pins kept falling out of the holes. Unfortunately, I haven't tried out any of the ones you listed (only if you count the fact that I used the T-72 tracks on a T-62 obr. 1972.)

I hope this helps.

Take care,

Jerry

All I can say is...it depends. Some of them might be older tracks that where reboxed for Trumpeter and others are brand new toolings. The LTL for the T-72, T-80 and T-64 are brand new. The are pretty good, with my only complaint being is the sprue attachment points...you can't get a clean cut with them just using a pair of good sprue cutters (i.e. Tamiya) and have to go back and clean them up using a xact knife, because they are on the thick side.

I would echo Jerry experience, though I have only used the T-64 ones, but I loved them. Look good, and pretty easy to use. Only down side that I found was quite a bit of cleanup on each link. Till much prefer them over the single piece non-working on the T-62/T-72 and the kit ones on the T-64.

I have started T55 tracks two years ago and i failed to complete them. It appears that certain links are not molded well, so pins tend to break - i had to re-drill the hole, put a wire instead of pin etc...

There are 2 different types of Trumpeter T-55 tracks, old and new. The ones you want to use are the 06622.

I've noted that Trumpeter makes tracks for the Renault R35. Has anybody seen these or tried to make them? Or, read any reviews of the tracks?

Their PT-76 tracks are pretty nice and quite easy to assemble. However the pins are so small that the tracks are fragile when complete and do not deserve the "workable" denomination.

Moreover, concerning this precise set, you don't have links enough to complete the both runs!
