This is the Tamiya T-55 pretty much oob . The base is kind of based on the pig trail going to my favorite deer field so I added some of the mud from there . The base is a round plaque purchased at Wal - Mart . I just used some styrofoam to build up the high ground and added Duram's water putty for ground cover . Then add a bit of Hudson and Allen mud with a bit of north Mississippi mud a bit of wood land senics foliage and grass and wallah!! Enough yaking about the base here is the finished product . Comments welcome

That is very nice TT. You have made it look very realistic. My only pick is that in the rear view Pic you don't appear to have enough mud on the tracks as they would have just come out of the mud and they look to clean.

Looks nice, but, like Roo said, the tank is a little clean for being in such a mud hole. It looks like it's floating on the mud, when it should be sunken into it, at least a few scale inches.

Lord Toady,
Very impressive. I especially like the sun bleached effect on the tank top, it's a real nice build. The mud is very well rendered, I guess nothing beats the real stuff.
This is really good, makes me wanna do one...

You have made an absolutely fine build on that "heavy metal guy" and on the base also. Just a note to add as stated from previous guys in such a messy mud terrain and with all the power that monster carries the trucks would have trown mud to almost every part of the tank. Especially the back part which looks almost just cleaned should have been the most messed up with mud and dirt. In yours the barrels look clean their tie raps clean , and also in the front your track part and the cable look unused and brand new. I think correcting these would give the packet an even nicer view. But the build and the weathering is very nice. I like it a lot

Howdy TT,
Really nice work on the tank Toad! It looks like you used 'filters', could you expand on that part of the process for us because in the #4 & #7 pic you can really see the depth. Good on ya!
I agree with the previous observations about the amount of mud present on the tank body itself. Without having to completely redo the tank, a suggestion might be to dry up some of the 'wet' mud below the vehicle and make it more 'patchy' mud or mud holes?
Just a thought since the tank itself looks great (would hate to cover up all that superb paintwork after all :-)).
Tread.
Oh, BTW, that is one funny looking Abrams, Mr. 'Abrams' Man! #:-) #:-)

Thanks for the comments. Shame on me for missing the mud on the rear of the tank . Not a prob. to fix . I tried the wire trick to make flying mud with not a lot of luck ( I have that issue also - good tip ) I'll go back and try again .
