Dragon's M1A2. Mostly out of the box with a few added details. Can't say enough about this kit, it's truly outstanding.

Let me be the first to say how frigging awesome that is , got to be one of the nicest M1s I've seen. The discoloration on the skirts, oils or pigments?

Thanks Sean!
I used regular old enamels on the skirts. There isn't much weathering you can do on these tanks, aside from mud and dust. The one exception are the side skirts which tend to get beat up pretty badly, especially when the vehicle is operating in urban areas.

That's one outstanding build. I have this kit, in my stash. I agree with you about the weathering. From what I have heard, the rubber rims and rubber track pads take quite a beating. I wish I could reference the particular source, but his name is lost to time; also stated that replacement wheels often looked as though they were second hand. Your decals look perfect.

John,
I concur with the above comments.
Your Abrams is finished to a VERY high standard. The paint and weathering look extremely like the real thing, so much so that you could mistake the photos for a real Abrams.

Thanks for the compliments. It's tough to realistically weather sand painted vehicles (at least it is for me).
The other thing I wish I could have done was to add some stowage gear on the turret. That being said, I've seen plenty of pics of OIF tanks without much gear present. I'm assuming for a short duration mission "outside the wire", they wouldn't need much stuff. Still would have been nice to add a water cooler and some small stuff for a bit of variety.

Nice job.
Did you have any fit issues with the back deck?

GREAT JOB!!! DRAGON's M1A1 AIM, M1A2 SEP, and M1A2 SEP V2 KITS ARE ABSOLUTELY THE BEST ABRAMS KITS TO WORK WITH!!!
I really like your "minimalist" weathering- That's how I build MY stuff. The only difference between my various M1 Abrams builds and yours is that I piled on a little bit more stowage, and I added crew members (See Jeff's pic of the real M1) to several of my M1s, one of which is tied down on my HOBBY BOSS M1070/M1000 Tank Transporter- ANOTHER EXCELLENT KIT!
Again, GREAT JOB!!! KEEP UP YOUR FINE WORK!!!

Thanks guys! No fit issues with the back deck (that I can remember), I do recall having to dry fit it a few times just to make sure I got it properly aligned.
