Hi All!

This is my first post on Armorama and I thought I should introduce myself with one of my most recent builds.

It is the Sherman Firefly VC from Cyberhobby (Orange Box 9142) in 1/35th. I used the Aber PE set, an RB model barrel and stowage is from the spares box and Legend. This is finished as "generic" Firefly VC, so does not really represent an actual vehicle, though there are chances that one would like this.

All comments welcome.

Thanks for watching,

Christos

Excellent job, overall. The modulation and pin wash are excellent. The rope is quite convincing. The only thing that really stands out is the difference in color of the dirt on the tank and that of the base. They should be the same or very close to the same color.

Thank you very much for the good word!
You are right about the difference between the tracks and the base, first time round it very noticeable, after a couple of re-touches it looks better. I decided not to work any more on trying to blend them, as I was starting to lose other stuff under the pile up of pigments and colour.

Nice job on your firefly.the one thing that sticks out is your tracks look too long and the left side track does not go around the drive wheel.
The right side track does not sit straight and has too much of a drop on to the first bogie.

A few figures would really set it off.

Hi Karl,

Thank you very much for the kind comments! You are right about the tracks, I had serious issues with them because I decided to use the EECs, which were a pain to fit, as their locating holes were not in line with the locating pins on the track pads and once I started the weathering and all, they started falling apart. In the end, I was quite pleased I managed to re-assemble them!

Very nice job! On a related topic does anyone know what the front angled pieces on fender of the Tamiya kit are used for?

Thank you very much Doug!

Sorry, I can't help with your question, as I normally build Axis vehicles and this Firefly is my first Allied tank!
