I have seen it in Moson and loved it. And I know how much you had to build from scratch.

Very nice,
Mario

PS It may sound odd, but the thing I was really impressed with were those rubber strips securing the vehicle tailgate. Amazing details.

Very, very nice Kimmo. Great scratch-building, and I particularly like the painting and dusting of the interior. Very realistic!

Cheers,
Sven

Simple, unpretentious, without the bells and whistles - but it's definitelly one of the best of the best Humvees I've ever seen! Congratulations. Great, that You've tried to portray one actual vehicle. Some details are missing, but generally You've succeeded

Hi and thank you,

the time was against me. I want this to be ready for Moson so i had to let something go. So some details are not correct.

I'd say you scored a goal. You captured the look of the real vehicle quite nicely. I was impressed with the seats, the worn cloth of military seats looked great.

Nice humvee, I like the weathering.

On your reference photo, is it an armor panel who was added on the driver door ?

Is it a vehicle used by a special unit ?

Hi Alex,

The panel in door is for extra armour, I could be wrong but this the best i know. Maybe our US friends can confirm this.
And to my knowledge this cehicle was used recular USMC.

The door armor looks like it could be a Kevlar "blanket," they came in all sorts of sizes. On a couple of Humvees I had we had the Kevlar blankets inside the door, made it a little more comfortable when you banged your knee against the blanket instead of the steel. If I remember correctly all our Humvees had the large blanket that fit in and covered the whole of the bed area.
