I recently acquired this kit and am in need of references.

My research so far leads me to believe this is a version used almost exclusively by the Russian army.

If not, what can be done to the base kit as far as conversion?

Can it be built OOB replicating it's use in any other setting?

This version is based off of the tank displayed at Schrevenham, UK. http://www.militarymodelling.com/forums/postings.asp?th=101164

To the best of my knowledge, this version was not used by Russia/Soviet Union.
