Lord Blue Fin.

2 thumbs up for the great work, especially the floors, and the used look of the interior. I am going to keep a close look on this baby.

Lord Blue Fin:

Wow!!!!

The deck looks fantastic---care to share the technique for getting that rust/dirt look for the floor???--pretty impressive.

Your pin washes are applied well here--I especially like the pic showing the mount and deck area---the scratches?--do you just run your hobby knife around and remove the paint to get that look---again very very effective combination of wash, scratches, weathering.

Nice wear touches on the breech and mechanism of the gun.

Lastly, compliments on the pic quality, very sharp showing the detail clearly---well done all the way around here Lord T.

Wow.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the nice comments, so far so good.. lol never know, I could go down hill quickly, but so far I like how it's coming out (need to do some flat coats on the interior though) but now to the outside!...

On the deck... I had Tamiya Hull Red on the whole interior.. when painting the interior Tamyia Dark Yellow, I only did a light overspray on the deck.

I then did a Black/Burnt Sienna Oil Wash...

Next dry brushed with the same Hull Red.. then a dry Brush of Tamiya Aluminum..

Lastly.. some different shades of Pastels...

the chipping on the rest of the interior.. some of it was 'scratching' to let the Hull Red show through.. and a lot was a fine paint brush with Model Master enamels, Black mixed with Burnt Sienna...

As far as the fit.. most of the issue is the back plate being way to big.. I guess this is much better than way too small!
:-)

So I just got out the Dremel and grinded the excess off... some sand and putty and hopefully it will look ok...

thanks again..

Good job Tuna - I always like to see your in-progress shots :-)

That old Hummel is actually shaping up nicely for you.... I am very impressed....

I especially like the chipping and weathering on the gun breech... wow! Cool looking! hehe I wish I had the guts to try some chipping on something....

hmmm - I do have the old Tamiya Wirblewind.... hehe, that would be a good guinea pig for the Tuna special chipping job.... hehe :-)

Thanks for the pics, Charlie - I always enjoy them :-)

Later-
Nelson
