Trumpeter has released the box art work of a 2 in 1 BMPT Terminator that they have in the works in 1/35th scale. I like the look of this offering.

Terminator 1 is a classic but I prefer Terminator 2. Oh wait...

It would make sense if you could build a T1 or T2, maybe that's why the T1 was announced so long ago and we're just know hearing more about it.

Here is the difference: BMPT never stop its upgrade since this beast showed its face to public. the very first prototype is the one without turret protect which surrounding the turret ring. the second upgrade is equipped with turret extra protect armor to strengthen the turret ring area, this second upgrade is also changed the first roadwheel so that it can carry the kmt-8 mine roller. the third one is the only one which known as the only in service BMPT: The BMPT KH for Kazakhstan army, this variant has different side armor protection and whole road wheels are changed into new style one which is used by T-72B3M and T-90MS RAE 2013, also 3 storage boxes are added and commander sight is different from UVZ prototype. forth one is the RAE 2013 version which is not so different from prototype(still the same one) but the first wheel is back to old 6 bolts wheels like T-72B/B1, then the last one is the RAE 2015 version, the visual difference is the maingun cover is switched by metal protective cover just like BMPT-72. Trumpeter version is the version which can be made into prototype RAE 2013 and RAE 2015, Dont know if they added a pair of new style road wheel so that we can make a version 2 prototype to add kmt-8. Best regard.

Prototype 2 and RAE2013 version....more accurate....hybird. it gives you kmt-8 in kit but didnt give you new road wheel.....you can make it into a RAE2013 version and same one with another type of camouflage.

BMPT prototype 2. as you can see the turret ring is reinforced and first pair of roadwheel is new style.

the pics below is BMPT prototype-3 (or you can call ver.RAE 2013)

last pic is BMPT RAE2015. the maingun cover is the same as BMPT-72. and it is the main visual difference

Hi;

The Main Difference in the Terminator is in the Hull itself, Mk;-1 30mm grenade launchers in sponsons on either side of hull ! Terminator Mk;-2 30mm deleted in hull sponsons, two (2) different versions of Six Spoke road wheels, newer type is more flower Petal type ! Road Wheels are not A Factor in Mk; IDENT !! All road wheel types can been seen on early T-72s also, as well as BMOT & E-300, TOSS-1 !!!! Early Prototypes of Terminator were Different in Weapons Fit !!

CHEERS; MIKE.

I am trying to decide whether to buy this Trumpeter kit or the Meng kit.

Are both kits of the SAME version?

I know the Meng kit comes with the dozer blade and ECM antennae.
