The best part of the news is the fact this is first in line of MiniArt's “Post WWII“ series, which will include modern tanks, cars, trucks, AFV’s and figures.

Cool!

Something like modern British, German or Japanese tankers would have better. All figures for those nationalities are resin whilst American have already been done a number if times in plastic. They are truly becoming the new WW2 German.

Tim: You have to remember the size of the US Military and the number of vehicles available. I do agree that British and German crews are needed, but I am not so sure about the Japanese. However Canadian and other European nations are in despearte need of covering.

While I agree we need more modern figures from many nations I wouldn't say modern US is prolific in styrene? Dragon's US Tank Crew are from IIRC 1993...hardly modern. Master Box have two sets; one with four figures with different body armour (older uniforms maybe?) and one with two figures similar to these. Not sure two figures means Miniart should steer clear of the subject?

I welcome them and hope to see more.

I too don't know the quality of Miniart figures, but this is a welcome addition. The fact that one gets five figures instead of the usual four is also a nice bonus.

I look forward to more modern U.S. figures from Miniart. The modern figure market just hasn't been the same since DML stopped their "Elite Force" series back in 2003. Now with all these new 1/35 modern armor kits, I sure hope new 1/35 modern (plastic) figures make a comeback.

Mini Art figures are pretty nice. A little more slender than Masterbox. Nicely sculpted and molded .

Hold onto your hats, guys- This morning, I was browsing on various Hobby Sites. Over on CYBERMODELER's "What's New", I ran across MINIART's announcement of these US MODERN TANK CREW. While this new set is most welcome, the AD goes on to say that:

(paraphrased) "MINIART will be releasing many new Modern Subjects from the Post-War period on up to today's subject matter", which is indeed even MORE GOOD NEWS!

Given MINIART's fine reputation for quality plastic kits, we can expect more good stuff coming from this progressive manufacturer. Let's see what they'll come up with for us!

MINIART is one of these companies that we should pay close attention to- With all of the great stuff that they've been coming out with in the last few years, they're definitely a part of the "New Wave" of plastic kit manufacturers...

MINIART's figure kits are pretty darned good, for PLASTIC; better, in SOME cases, than a few of the resin goons that are out there. Purists will probably replace some of MINIART's figures' heads with HORNET heads...

They are good for US Army Soldiers from about '07 to present. This is based on the IOTV body armor. The USMC uses a different style body armor, as do other countries. The guy in the fleece jacket could be used a little more universally, but still the same time frame since he is wearing ACUs which were first issued in about '06.

I'll SECOND THAT! We need MORE US MARINES in ALL scales, especially in 1/35, and encompassing ALL ERAs, as well. The US MARINES have played a PROUD part in US AND World History for over TWO HUNDRED and FORTY YEARS!!!
