I'm currently working on Tiger-Model's Nagmachon which has the type of tracks like the ones in the pic below.. is that how they would normally look.. just black with some dust, or do they need some metal treatment and some rust on some parts of the inside?

I'm working on it too. As soon as I reached the step 25, I offered myself AFV club workable tracks. I think colours should be rubber black and iron oxyd.

Hey, Raphael... which AFV Club tracks fit this vehicle? I would rather have workable tracks than having to glue all these links and make them fit around the wheels.

As other posters have said the hush puppy tracks are metal with rubber pads. The Nagmachon could use Hush Puppies, basic Centurion tracks and I believe reinforced Centurion tracks. I have tried the basic Centurion tracks available from AFV on my Nagmachon and they fit around the Tiger Models sprockets fine. The reinforced Centurion tracks will be in the Hobby Boss kit.
Note that the photo you have supplied has hushpuppy tracks with Basic spares mounted on the rear hull. Now this is a bit of supposition on my part (if you are American the phrase I am talking out of my a** probably comes to mind) so please do not take it as the truth. I believe that the Israelis, in order to protect their roads, probably switch tracks to hushpuppies when necessary and put steel tracks when in the desert and off road or visiting other countries. Please if any one can confirm or deny my theory let me know.
A final note the serial number on the picture Nagmachon is the serial number supplied in the kit.
A final Nagmachon question: How is Nagmachon pronounced? I hate no knowing how to say what I am building.

I think that the pads should be painted with a very dark grey brown colour to represent rubber, but the rest of the track is to be painted in the standard steel colour.

Given the generally dry environment, the metal portions of the track will be a bright burnished metal with little evidence of oxide unless you are depicting a vehicle that ahs been at rest for some days or after a rain, when the metal would be brighter rust until the vehicle is running for 20 minutes when it will be back to bright metal again.
For the pads use your favourite weathered rubber colour. I love Floquil weathered black, but you can't get it anymore and I am hoarding my few remaining bottles...

Hi David,
True, however there's a mishap from tiger Models side: the number on the mud guards (813783) does not correspond to the license plate (818783). Bear in mind...

Well, it depends what kind of "Nagmachon" we're talking about. The one that you plan to build is the late "Doghouse" variant which is optimized for urban warfare, hence the "Hush Puppy" style tracks. Earlier types (used initially in Lebanon during the '90's) utilized basic tracks for better cross country ability.

Hi Hisham,
As Paul (correctly) pointed out, due to the rather arid weather conditions in Israel, IDF AFV's metal tracks are usually some kind of light brown-grey color, opposed to the quiet rusty tracks of European/North american tracked vehicles. As a fan of Tamiya acrylics yourself, I would suggest Flat Brown mixed with some grey, weathered with washes and pigments of your choice.
Check your references of Egyptian tracked vehicles. Since the weather is somehow similar, the painting method would be the same. As for the rubber pads, I would suggest black-grey ( I used Vallejo's for my Nagmachon).
Hoped that helped,
Israel

Thanks for the tip, Israel.. I generally use Tamiya acrylics for airbrushing.. and Vallejo, or other water based acrylics, for brushing.. I'll figure something out either way.
