I have always liked the ISU 152 ever since I played Panzer Leader and I am getting the urge to build one. Any recommendations?

Tamiya made an excellent kit back in 2009. Should still be some out there on the Web. I think Amazon has several listed.

Agree, while the Dragon kit can be built into a nice model, it has it's issues (height of lower hull IIR). The Tamiya kit is awesome out of the box, and lots of aftermarket for it.

Get the Tamiya one. The kits by Dragon and various East European manufacturers just can't can't stand up to it in any real way.

Don't forget about the Bronco offering, it is more involved, but a great kit.

Tamiya all the way.Although you have to be careful when attaching the sponson covers.I had trouble joining the upper to lower hull because of the sponson covers.

I'll support the various opinions in favor of the Tamiya kit. I've built it (converted to an ISU-122S) as well as the DML kits, and the Tamiya is by far the better one.

The Tamiya kit is intelligently engineered and goes together beautifully. It doesn't include every single detail but it's pretty good and what's there is accurate. You don't need to spend a lot of time correcting things, though you can go to town with aftermarket to enhance things if you want.

I really enjoyed the Tamiya kit,you might want to add a metal barrel if your finances allow, also you can't beat the look of Fruils on these beasts.Tamiya gives you link and length and rubber bands in their kit.

Trumpeter is nice & easy with metal barrel separate tracks. Bronco's would be a lil bit more complex. Tamiya's is also nice.
Cyberhobby's is good too, if you can find it. It's a 3 in 1 kit..gives the option of building the ISU-152, ISU -122 or the ISU-122S..plus magic tracks. I built the ISU-122S with my kit.
I built the Tamiya with Friul. I built 2 trumpeters , one as a ISU-152 the other as a ISU-122. I built the ZVEZDA kit (terrible) & fixed it up with dif tracks, barrel...i never did the Bronco yet.

Trumpeter have announced a postwar ISU-152K, and they may well do a wartime one at some point (knowing how they like to issue several modifications of one vehicle). Personally I am waiting to see what Trumpeter's ISU will be like before indulging in another ISU (the first model I built in adulthood was Zvezda's ISU, also not bad apart from the tracks )
