Hi;
As of this moment, there is Not A lot of reference on the T-72 used by both sides in there war. And altho Iraq did have the T-72, the most pictures are of either T-62s or T-55s. I have only seen one picture of A T-72 and it only shows the Turret rear, and shows that it had Brown bands of camo; ! And there was Arabic turret numbers on the rear stowage bin.
CHEERS; MIKE.

Like Mike said- Iraq had T-72s but there's not many pictures of them. I will have a check through my references and see if I can find anything.

Great pictures Frenchy!
I had a look at a few books today and the only picture I could find of a T-72 was a poor shot of an Iranian T-72 during the early 1987 advance on Basra known as 'Operation Karbala 5'- it appears to show a tan paint scheme. (I would post it but I can't find it online.)
Iran is supposed to have captured the bulk of its T-72's from the Iraqis around 1985- although there is speculation that they got a few from Libya or Syria. The Iraqis are thought to have had around 100 T-72s overall.

Really excellent album there Frenchy- that first pic you posted there of the T-72 with the mine plough attachments is very similar to the one I found in a book, looks like it was from the same set- the one I found was taken from further away but it appears to be the same or similar T-72 during the same advance.
