It would be an understatement to say I have a few extra models, but, alas, i do. At one time there was a volunteer outfit that took models for use at military and veteran hospitals. I would be in your debt if anyone could provide a name/address for any such organization(s)
Many thanks

I don't have that info, but I will let you know that I have contacted a VA Hospital and asked for the Volunteer Department. They were very happy to get stuff, but also asked me not to send super complex things. Your Virginia VA hospital may be similar. Good luck,

John

Gino was dealing with this and he will likely be the one to keep you informed.

DJ,
Here at Ft. Sam, we have the Wounded Warriors Battalion. They have a Rec Center/Family Center next to the hospital that is for all the wounded soldiers and their families. They have a arts and crafts center inside and I have donated some models and all my back issues of Fine Scale to them. If you have a base close to you , you can try that or maybe someone that lives near a base or on a base can be a go between for you.

Other than that, yes, what John said about the Volunteer Dept at the VA hospital.

I have tried the Virginia VA without luck. If Fort Sam has a facility that accepts donations, do you have an address?

This is a good cause and I'm sure someone with chime in with details.

Another option is to donate items for club raffles (this was possible at the IPMS Richmond show recently, and AMPS in Sumter SC in April will have a similar setup).

Cheers,

I was receiving and distributing them through the USO when I was last in Iraq, but that was a few years back ('08-'09).

IPMS has a way to do it now.
