Hey everyone, I was curious about white washes on US vehicles during the Cold War. Were the washes brushed on or sprayed. I'm working on a Bradley during REFORGER 84 that's got a wash, but it almost looks too "clean" to have painted by hand. If I can figure out how to post pics I'll post it. Thanks for any help.

The few photos that I've seen point towards brush application of the white wash. It seems that water from melting snow, rain, or road spray quickly weathered the white wash. With enough water, the white wash was almost completely removed. And if that's the case then it doesn't matter if it was sprayed or brushed anyway.
