I like the rust and chipping. How did you do it?

I base coated the model in armour brown applied hairspray. Then sprayed Tamiya dark yellow then weathered with oils

Don't have any criticism, but it sure looks nice. I built this many many years ago, and those Italeri Pz 38 kits were such fun easy builds, and very nice. Do I have a question, I'm guessing the gun barrel is natural metal? I've never seen a pic of a Marder with a barrel like that, just wondered if it is based on a real example or you just liked the look.

Or maybe it's Panzer Grey? Either way, still curious. Nice job.

It looks good, and nicely worn! I have the Dragon Marder III H to build.

Thanks guys
I painted the barrel grey because I liked the look of it based on other models I've seen
It is an old kit and it shows it age imo
I have some newer builds coming up soon

great job! fantastic weathering! I like the gun barrel too; have seen that on other kits and in pics as well as some instructions (for example, my Dragon Jagdtiger [Henschel]) that is in my stash;

Thanks very much for the feedback. I liked the style of different coloured barrels.
I have a dragon kit to build next. I've never built a newer kit. I'm looking forward to see how they turn out

German gun barrels were delivered in a heat resistant semi gloss dark gray lacquer primer. They were ordinarily overpainted the vehicle color, but occasionally, replacement barrels would be installed in the original finish. This is probably more common on models than in real life (but hey, it's interesting).
