Found the kit at a good rate on ebay and ordered it, well aware of the critics on the lack of detail of the suspension. The kit arrived today and to my surprise Meng must have secretely updated the suspension with molded recesses giving the impression of leaf spring units. Still it is not completely hollowed out but with some smart painting the effect will probably be quite okay. Thanks Meng!
Peculiar though id that I can't find any news or info that this update have occured.

How about a picture or two of the redesigned pieces.

Sneaky little devils. While it is an improvement, I guess they figured it wasn't a big enough one to mention to anyone. Glad they did something, though. It shows they, unlike some of their brethern, are actually listening to their customers.

Top marks to them for improving a kit! I haven't got this yet so is there any chance of a photo comparison with the old piece?

Considering this feature was more or less the only complaints about the kit I think 1t is fantastic they made the effort. The flaw is quite prominent though if you want to build a vehicle without the skirts which, according to my available reference material, was the common configuration.
There are some buildlogs here and on the net where you can see the original flat sides clearly.
