I can't speak for your side of the pond but in the UK I get mine from a nearby picture framing shop. I just went in and asked for offcuts and in exchange for a charity donation I left with a bag of bits in various thicknesses which will last me a few years at my glacial build rate. The recommended way to remove the paper facing appears to be a hot air gun so I need to find mine.

This is the problem as I have yet to find any here in the states.
