Hi Gang,

a little bit out of my collection, but with the re-release of DML Maus kit, I wonder if it`s worth the 47,50 Euros? I think that some AM parts (gun barrel, tracks) might be due?
TIA

i've build it a few years ago.

It's an older kit so there are some flaws, especially the tracks and wheels bulding process. while they may not be innacurate it will take A LOT of patience to put it all together, honestly putting them together may have been the most difficult modelling task i have ever done. It doesn't go well together, heavy pieces of plastic supposed to hold together on very small and very badly available areas are falling apart again and again.... And at the end of the day almost all of it will remain hidden and unseen behind massive side armor.
It also misssing any photoetched parts and some details are a bit oversimplified.

But once you manage to put it together it looks simply stunning, well mainly because of the original subject it's depicting, it's one hell of an impressive machine. It is way bigger than any 35th model you will ever build, you have huge areas available for weathering creativity. Definitely get it, you will tear out some own hair from frustration while building it but it's worth it. Especially because, as far as i know, noone else is making maus in 35. It's also surprisingly heavy for a plastic kit once its finished

You'd be better off throwing 47 euros out the window of a moving car. Less disappointment that way.

If you want to go 1/72 (less shelf space required), Dragon made one years ago, but one by Pegasus, from about the same era, was actually better. If you can still find either one. The Maus completely dwarfs a Tiger I when placed together!

I think I will pass on this one and spend my money on some GTK Boxer goodies.
