Panda (aka Kitty Hawk) just announced a new T-55. I'm all for new products, but this is getting a little ridiculous. If Panda's armor is as good as most of their aircraft kits, it'll be a waste of good styrene.

Don't be that extreme...for the moment no one did the T-55A, yes the original T-55A into 2 versions in recent years so far(except Tamiya). And panda's afv kit quality is getting better and better. From what they can show you on the pic. They did quite q good job on the research especially the blueprint. So why not? The more the better, modellers always get more options to chose. This is good news.

I remember the days when there might be 10-12 new AFV kits - yearly! Now it seems like that is what we get monthly. I can hardly see that a wide selection is a problem.
Especially not when we get exotic AFVs like modern Russian, Chinese, British, South African, French, Germen etc.
In addition a whole line of WWI tanks.
In addition to this of course the never ending line of WWII tanks in all shapes and forms!
It is golden days for modelers!

None of those other T-55's put money in Panda'a bank. No different then someone doing another P-51 or BF-109.

Is it the original version, or a T-55A like Tamiya's?

I am being cautiously optimistic about this one. I have 3 Takom T-55 kits in front of me and they are not free of faults.
miniart has also announced a T-54 which I will also be getting.

Why not, what is the issue with that? Nobody is forcing anybody to buy it...
If sales will be low, that's their issue, not ours
Cheers,
Adam
Ps.: I had no clue Panda and Kitty Hawk are the same
