Well, took some more pics of my Tamiya Panzer IV after spraying the green camouflage lines.
Lots of things still to do:
- spray red camo-lines
- paint all gear on the tank
- paint the armor plates
- add tracks (are painted and weathered already)
- weather the hell out of the completed tank
- paint and add the hands to the figures
- paint some of the gear of the figures
- redo neck of the figure tilting his head
- fill up the trees
- add more foliage (need to get some, though)
- cover the base with more dried tea-leaves - tried some of it, sprinkled them on (see last pic) and I think it looks quite good
- add a little snow
- lacquer the wooden base
- make plexiglass cover
The base
In case you are wondering, the base is two lengths of board glued together (seam strengthened with staples), then cut with a circular saw. Used a router to machine the profile. Base is a piece of styrene foam - elevations are foam glued with silicone glue. After that, the base was covered with plaster - washed heavily with oil paints. After that dried, I added another layer of plaster (cheapest I could find ) mixed with some Future, acrylic paint and lots of white glue. After that, painted it using oils (several browns and greens). Covered it selectively with white glue and covered it in a thick layer of static grass, tipping it to remove the majority of it, tapping the base (do this over an old kit box so you can re-use the left over grass... yes, I am Dutch...). Washed the grass with oil paint - olive drab. After this dried, drybrushed the grass with a light green (Humbrol). The 'trees' need to be fixed and look too empty - also, I want to add longer grass or something.
Quite happy with the outcome
