Hi all resident WWII German Arms experts! I was looking on the net to try to find some good reference photos of some common WWII German ammunition types and their dimensions. I've been able to come up with lots of different photos but I haven't run across anything that gives the exact shell dimensions.
The type ammo that I am looking for is for the Panzer IV, the 88mm flak guns, the Panther and the Tiger I tanks. Not looking for a specific shell type, just common rounds like HE etc. Anyone have any illustrations of these shells that gives the dimensions as well?
thanks in advance,
Jim

Hi Jim,
I'm in a bit of a hurry, hence the short answer: YOu might be better off with searching for the exact gun, since the ammo is built to suit specific gun models. This is how I found valuable information on ammo dimensions in the past, including for the vehicles you just mentiond. Even wikipedia will help!
E.g. for the Tiger it would be the KWK 36 L/56.
Good luck!
